Dolphin Tour Zanzibar: Early-Morning Boat Trip to See Wild Dolphins at Kizimkazi
Kizimkazi, at the southern tip of Zanzibar, is the best-known place on the island to see wild dolphins. Mornings are the best time, when the animals are active and the sea is calm.
We pick you up early, drive to the village and take you out by small boat with a guide who knows where the pods usually feed.

Overview
The ride from your hotel to Kizimkazi takes around an hour, depending on where you stay. A small boat then takes you about twenty minutes offshore to the area where dolphins are usually spotted. Your guide looks for signs of movement and lets you know when to get ready.
We follow ethical guidelines: we keep a respectful distance, limit the time near each pod and never chase the animals. If the dolphins are relaxed and the conditions are right you can slip into the water to snorkel nearby.
Sightings are never guaranteed because dolphins are wild, but most mornings are rewarding. Kizimkazi also has a 12th-century mosque that is worth a short stop if you have time.
Mosum Tours & Safaris is a Zanzibar-based operator with more than ten years of experience in ground handling. Our guides and drivers live on the island, know it well and are on WhatsApp from 8 AM to 9 PM every day.

Best Time for Dolphin Tour in Zanzibar
This trip runs all year. For the calmest water and clearest snorkeling, aim for the dry months: June to October and December to February. April and May bring the long rains, with more showers and a choppier sea, so we may move the trip to a better day if conditions are unsafe.
Local tip: For the best experience, choose an early departure and allow some flexibility in your expectations. Remember: these are wild dolphins. We cannot call them, reserve them or guarantee that they will appear at a particular location. That is part of what makes this a genuine wildlife experience.
